How difficult is the course?
Depends on who you are… In general, this is a very difficult course. The first 18-20 mile are not very technical but they are quite a grind. From that point on things get pretty technical. The trail has exposure, boulders, loose gravel, at least some sections that will require a hike-a-bike all while on a course that you need to be aware of other trail users.
That all being said, it also has some of the most fun downhill sections around.
Is the event self supported?
It is always a good idea to carry the food you prefer and any mechanical supplies you need, but we will also have a lot of support out on the course. We will do our best to keep you fed and rolling.
What support will be on course?
There will be 3 aid stations stocked with food and drink. Each aid station will have basic first aid, and will be stoked with mechanical tools and accessories.
There will also be a number of moto support vehicles that will be roaming the course with mechanical and basic first aid.
What food should I expect at the Feed Zones?
Most of your basics but exact products won’t be known until closer to race date. If you have something you can’t live without it’s best to have that with you.
Can I ride with my dog?
If you love your dog, great! If you love to ride with your dog great! Just don’t do it during this race. You family members are welcome to bring the dog to love you up at the finish, but riders are not allowed to have a dog accompany them on course. Exceptions may be made if you require a seeing eye dog
Can I wear headphones?
No, they are not allowed. Please respect this rule. If you are caught or reported, you will be DQ’d. With many riders out there, there is bound to be a time when you need to hear someone coming up on you, calling for help or yelling MOOSE!
Can I ride a fat bike?
Dude! If it is human powered and you want to ride it, do it! Fatties, Unicycles, Tandems, Cross Bike, name your poison and you are welcome to give it a go.
Are there wild animals on course?
Other than the riders? Yes! There is a good chance you will see Moose, Deer, and Mountain Goats. There is less of a chance but still a chance of Rattle Snakes, Porcupine, Raccoon, Rock Chuck, Beaver, Mountain Lion and any number of birds and other small animals found along the Wasatch Front.
